01 · WHY PEOPLE MOVE

Why New Yorkers look at Tampa Bay

No state personal income tax. Florida does not impose a personal income tax, so individuals have no Florida income tax return to file. Source: Florida Department of Revenue

Life on the water. Tampa Bay, Boca Ciega Bay, the Gulf of Mexico, rivers and residential canals give the region bayfront, Gulf-access and canal-front homes, along with lakefront homes inland in Pasco.

Three counties, different feels. City neighborhoods in St. Petersburg and South Tampa, and the Pasco coast and inland communities north of Tampa, give you real choices on setting and home style.

A little planning goes a long way. Waterfront homes come with a few extra things to check, like the seawall, dock and water depth. The checklist below keeps it simple.

03 · WATERFRONT HOMES

What to check on a waterfront home

Two homes on the same canal can be very different to own. These are the questions to answer before your inspection period ends.

Practical checklist only, not an inspection. Use licensed inspectors, marine contractors and surveyors, and confirm permits with the local building department.

04 · WHERE TO LOOK

Match the area to what you’re looking for

Start with what matters most to you, whether that is a downtown nearby, a boat behind the house or room to compare coast and inland. Each card links to a page about that area.

General area information only, not a listing search or a statement about any property or neighborhood. Gustavo helps buyers across Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough.
